My husband, Scott, has a PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy and is an assistant professor in Family and Child Studies at Northern Illinois University. He loves his job and spends most of his time with students teaching and doing research. He also continues to do clinical work with individuals, couples, and families in his own private practice.
Every so often Scott will write his own posts about his work as a marriage and family therapist and his ongoing research about commitment in romantic relationships. Scott has been itching for an outlet outside of the classroom to share some of the ideas that he has about healthy family functioning. I am excited for those posts!
I grew up in a small town in Utah. I met my wonderful husband when we were only in 8th grade, although we did not begin dating until we were in college. I went to college in Idaho and Utah, we married, and we started this grand adventure of family! We love our 4 little kiddos, one girl and three boys. This adventure wouldn’t be the same without them!
We are loving life and are learning a whole lot along the way. Although we have our struggles just like every family has, we have chosen to be united and committed to our family relationships. We have so much to be thankful for as a family and we feel strongly that we are doing splendid!
