It’s good to be back on the blog! I can’t believe it has been a whole year since my last post, but I hope to be a much more regular contributor from here on out. My goal was to have 2 posts completed by the end of August. As you can see by my number of posts, that goal was a little out of reach! But, I guess there’s not a better way to start blogging again than by posting about delicious chocolate chip cookies.
My daughter and I have been trying out lots of different chocolate chip cookie recipes and after looking at this one’s ingredients, we knew we needed to give it a try. It’s not everyday that you see a chocolate chip cookie recipe that calls for maple syrup. I’ve posted a different chocolate chip cookie recipe, but this one is just different and so yummy.
Don’t they look great!
Chocolate Chip Cookies
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
- 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 3 1/4 cup flour
- 2 tsp. cornstarch
- 1 tsp. baking powder
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup mini milk chocolate chips
Mix melted butter, brown sugar, and sugar together. Stir in eggs. Add vanilla and maple syrup, combine.
In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add flour mixture to sugar/butter mixture gradually until combined.
Add the chocolate chips and mix.
Chill dough for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Roll dough into balls and place a couple of inches apart on a cookie sheet. Bake for 13 minutes or until done.
