When I was growing up, I would never even touch the salads that my mom and grandma made for my family. I would eat a plain green salad, but that is about as far as I could handle. As I have gotten older, and much wiser, I have come to realize how much I have been missing out on! One of the salads that my mom would make is this Classic Shrimp Salad, and it is wonderful. Just think of all the yummy salads I could have eaten growing up, but was too afraid to try. Well, at least I can do much better from here on out! 😀
Just because my mom and grandma were so great at making salads, doesn’t mean I have done a very good job of making them for my little family. My husband LOVES salads and would love if I would make one everyday, but some salads take so much time to make. Luckily for him, this salad isn’t too bad. Granted, I’m not going to make it everyday, but this one is tasty and doesn’t take too much time to make. Perfect for the lazy woman inside of me!
Classic Shrimp Salad
- 8 oz. pasta (I used bow-tie pasta)
- 8 oz. tiny shrimp, canned
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup diced green apple
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
Cook pasta according to the directions on the package, drain. In a large bowl, mix all of the ingredients together. Chill in the refrigerator before serving.
I hope you love it! Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
