For our family, Valentine’s Day has always been a celebration of family love. This is how it was growing up too, so I guess that is why I have always loved Valentine’s Day even on those years that I didn’t have a special someone to celebrate it with. I always had my family! While I love to do things to help my husband feel special on Valentine’s Day, I also love to show my kids how much I love them as well! I made each of my kids a Valentine’s Gift to do just that!
First, I got out all of my materials and got these little books ready at the beginning of February. I cut out 14 hearts for the pages of the book and 1 more for the cover, so 15 hearts total for each book. I decorated the cover with some scrapbook paper and their initial.
Then I wrote 14 things that I love about them on each of the books’ pages. I then laminated each page and the cover to make it more durable and something that they will hopefully love for a long time. I love having a laminating machine (affiliate link) at home. It has been so handy! Then hole punched each page.
Now, I didn’t assemble the books just yet. On the first day of February I gave each child the cover page with the binder clip attached and then hid their first page to the book. Each day leading up to Valentine’s Day, I hid one page from their book for them to find. After they found their page each day, we just clipped it onto the ring. On Valentine’s Day they had a completed book of 14 reasons that I love them and a very special Valentine’s gift! 😀
Along with our Valentine’s Day Countdown, this 14 reasons I love you Valentine’s Gift has made Valentine’s Day so much fun!
Of course, these little books don’t have to be just for kids! I’ve made similar things for my husband and he loves it just as much! And you also don’t have to do it for quite so long. Even just giving out little notes a few days before Valentine’s Day would be a wonderful Valentine’s gift.
Have a fabulous day!
