Yellow Preschool

Yellow Preschool at On the last week that I taught our little preschool co-op, we learned about different colors! Today I wanted to share with you the little craft we did on our Yellow Preschool day!

We started out by reading the book, A Color of His Own (affiliate link) by Leo Lionni. This is such a cute book! I had the kids stop me every time the book said the color yellow. And we talked about all the yellow things that they could think of. We also went on a color hunt around the house, looking for yellow. Then we worked on our little craft. I thought it would be fun to make suns.

We cut out circles from a paper plate, but you could use card stock. Then I gave the kids crayons, craft sticks, googly eyes, glue, pom poms, stickers and let them go to work. Honestly, none of the kids’ projects looked like suns, but it sure was fun and they loved it! (The sun you see in the pictures is my own creation. I don’t think I’m as creative as the children 🙂 ) I love to see each child’s personality in their project!

We sure have loved preschool this year! We will miss all of our friends when we move in a couple of weeks!

Thanks for stopping by today and have a great day!

Lovely simple craft idea to help teach colour. It doesn’t matter what the final craft looks like, as long as the children have enjoyed getting creative.
