Let me know if adding more eggs and milk help. Instead of Texas toast, I have used regular white bread, but used 3 layers of it instead. I’m not really sure how to make the sugar and butter less gritty either. Maybe make sure to stir it longer to help the sugar dissolve more. Sorry to not be of more help! Happy New Year! ]]>By: Rosanna Tue, 01 Jan 2019 19:10:40 +0000, Made this for New Years Day breakfast. Instead of texas toast I used sliced soft Italian loaf that I sliced myself. The bottom layer was great however the top layer was somewhat dry. Also the butter and brown sugar mixture was a little gritty,I thought it was supposed to be syrupy. Can’t find texas toast here….next time I think I will add more eggs and milk. Your thoughts?? ]]>By: Elisha Sat, 03 Nov 2018 01:23:39 +0000 don’t normally leave comments, but I’ve made this recipe four times, which is a lot for me! It was very good, but my bottom layer was soggy while the top layer was perfect. I was wondering if this was normal or if there was a tip or trick I needed to do to make this not happen. This was my first time making French toast of any kind. ]]>By: Christmas Brunch Menu Ideas - Over the Big Moon Tue, 21 Nov 2017 12:00:52 +0000[…] Based French Toast from Doing Splendid  […] ]]>By: KaCee Thu, 19 Oct 2017 18:32:38 +0000, I’m a little late responding to your message.
