Splendid Sunday: Family Gospel Scholar Program

Family Gospel Scholar Program at DoingSplendid.com

Today I wanted to share our Family Gospel Scholar Program. It is a wonderful idea that I found on this website and then expanded it to make it our own.

Basically, there are 4 degrees that the kids can earn (Associate, Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral) by fulfilling specific gospel related requirements. The Associate degree is pretty simple and easy for young children and then the requirements become a little more difficult as they move along to the higher degrees and as the kids grow older. As the kids earn each of their degrees, they will get a trophy (which my kids are super excited about) to show off their great accomplishments!

Throughout each of the degrees they also receive mini medals for different tasks that they complete. Their mini medals are placed on their special medal boards that we made out of a double frame and are proudly displayed in each of their rooms (I found the “I Am a Child of God” printable here). Our kids have gotten so excited to get their mini medals! The oldest kids have gotten a couple already and we have only been working on this for a few months! The picture above is Taryn’s board and Trevor’s is the one below. On the back, I have written down when they earned each of their mini medals.

If you are interested in doing this with your own family, I outlined our degree requirements for the Family Gospel Scholar Program that you can get by clicking on the link below!

I used the same requirements that the family I linked to above used for the Associate Degree, but I made up all the other degree requirements on my own. We’ll see if they change or if they will have to be improved upon as time goes on! It also mentions in the program the Family Dating Academy. I will talk about that on the blog soon!

Have a great Sunday and a great week!
