I have fond memories of my Grandma’s Easter Tree when I was a little girl. I remember when she made the trees by putting sticks into plaster and then painting the branches white. I remember every year after when she would put them up and put on her beautiful Easter ornaments! I thought they were so cute! And I always knew that I wanted to have an Easter tree of my own when I grew up and had a family.
Now I am (mostly) all grown up and I was ready to have that Easter tree of my very own! We are moving soon, so I didn’t want a permanent Easter tree (painted white like my Grandma’s, but someday I will do that), so my kids and I found a great stick that we could use as our Easter tree on our walk one day. Then we pulled out our pink, cherry blossom vase (which I think is so cute!) and filled it with a piece of floral foam and added moss to the top.
I loved my Grandma’s Easter ornaments, but when I saw the price of those type of ornaments, I thought we better decorate our Easter tree in a different way, being on a student family budget and all! 🙂 So, we found little Styrofoam eggs at Amazon and dressed them up a little bit to make our homemade Easter tree ornaments!
We found some cute springy, Eastery fabric in our stash and cut it up into small pieces. Then we used Mod Podge to glue all the little pieces onto the eggs. I think they are pretty cute! Then we tied little pieces of ribbon into a bow and loop and hot glued them onto the top of our eggs, so they were ready for hanging.
We love our Easter tree and think it is just perfect! My kids did a great job decorating it and have since oohed and aahed over it on our mantle! Oh, and by the way, we bought the small egg ornaments at the dollar store a couple of years ago. I think they’re pretty cute too!
Do you have any fun Easter memories?
Have a great day!
