Book of Mormon Treasure Map

book of mormon treasure mapA few months ago I found this post about a family’s Book of Mormon Treasure Map and knew that we needed to make one too!

We kicked off our treasure map reading program with a little party. The kids dressed up like explorers, we ate fish sticks for dinner (I had never bought fish sticks for dinner before this night, who knew our kids would love them so much!), and we played a few games. Then I showed them our map and gave them each a “Book of Mormon Treasures” notebook that they can write the things they are learning while they read.

We all put our laminated ships on the map with painters tape and began our reading adventure! This has sure motivated us all to read more. We do pretty well reading the scriptures as a family, but this has sure helped our kids want to read independently!

So, I wanted to share each part of the map a little more closely, just in case you wanted to make your own. Keep in mind that I am not an artist. 🙂 So, here we go along the treasure map trail!

It’s lots of fun. This little boy thinks so too!

If you want to do this with your family too, please read the post linked above. She has little activities for the kids to do as they make their way around the map and they are are printable and wonderful. Just like her, we also made little treasures to earn along the way too. We are using all of her things and our kids love them so far (though you can see we have a long way to go 🙂 )!

If you have any questions about the Book of Mormon or what I believe as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, please email me. I would love to hear from you!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
