In our Primary at church, we decided to make a giant chocolate chip cookie for anyone that could memorize all thirteen Articles of Faith! So far, I have made 20 giant cookies! That’s pretty amazing right!? I am so proud of all the kids’ hard work!
I am lucky that my 2 oldest kids have passed off their Articles of Faith, so we have gotten to actually eat a couple of cookies instead of just staring at them each week, knowing we wouldn’t get to eat any of them!
They are really good to eat too! Don’t you think they would also make a really great gift for a new neighbor or a friend? I don’t think anyone could resist a giant chocolate chip cookie!
Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
Recipe from here
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, melted and cooled
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1/2 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (or m&m’s or peanut butter chips or white chocolate chips or butterscotch chips, anything you can think of!)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare large (11×17) pan by lining with aluminum foil. Cream together the sugars and butter. Add egg and vanilla and mix. Mix in the dry ingredients. Fold in the chocolate chips.
Next, press the cookie into a circle on the prepared 11×17 pan. I usually press mine into a 9 inch circle, so then after it bakes it fits perfectly on a 12 in. cardboard cake circle.
Bake for 13-15 minutes and then let it cool completely on the pan, then it is much easier to move.
I hope you love this recipe. It has definitely been a crowd pleaser around here!
