Last week, our Ward held our annual Great to be 8 Baptism Preview for all the soon-to-be 8 year old children.
I had never planned one of these fun events before and needed a lot of guidance from all the wonderful people sharing their ideas online. So, I decided I better show what we came up with just in case someone else out there is in the same situation as I was.
You can pretty much tell how I made this simple banner. Type letters, cut into circles, glue onto even bigger circles, make two hole punches on the top, and then thread the ribbon! (How’s that for a tutorial!) 🙂
This is where I gave out the fabulous CTR Towels that I made. I was so excited about these that I made them 6 months ago! The kids really did think they were cool!
Last, but not least…our invitation.
First we had the bishop speak about preparing for baptism and the interview with the bishop. Then everyone moved to the font room, where we had one of the moms speak about baptism and what to expect on their baptism day. Then we moved to the Relief Society room and had the kids’ primary teacher talk about receiving the Holy Ghost. Lastly, we went back to the primary room and had a speaker about Activity Days, Cub Scouts, and the Faith in God program.
I thought the evening was really fun and the kids had a great time! I hope they are getting excited about their upcoming baptism!
