ABC Valentine Preschool Game

Yesterday was our big preschool co-op Valentine Party!

We had a great time reading Valentine stories, making Valentine’s, giving out Valentine’s to our friends, and eating fun Valentine’s treats!

One of the games that we played was this ABC Valentine Preschool Game. The original idea came from Teach Mama.

ABC Valentine Preschool Game

I found the big foam hearts at Joanns and since the preschool kids have been learning the alphabet, I wrote a letter on each heart. I put the hearts in a circle on the floor and then as music played the kids walked around the circle. When the music stopped, the kids stopped, I called out a letter, and the child on that letter got a prize.  Pretty simple, right?

When I ran out of prizes, the kids got to call out which letter they were stopped on.

After we got home, the ABC hearts got even more use. We put them in a circle again and said our ABC’s and letter sounds as we walked around. Then we mixed them all up and tried to put them in order again.

I’m sure there are a million more ways to use these ABC hearts! They are super fun!

What kind of Valentine’s Day activities do you do with your preschool age children?
