Can anyone tell yet that I love Valentine’s Day?
I’m pretty sure it is my favorite holiday. It must be something about the pretty reds and pinks during a dreary winter. All I know is that I love it!
Because I love Valentine’s Day so much, I wanted to make my family a special Valentine’s Day treat for Family Home Evening and this recipe was created completely by accident!
I set out to make this Chex mix recipe. I had all the ingredients except for Valentine’s M&M’s, so I put it on my grocery list to buy at the store. While at the store, I forgot to pick up the M&M’s while I was in the Valentine section and was too lazy to push my two kids and heavy cart back there, so I picked up some pink Sixlets in the baking aisle.
Then after I got home and started to make the recipe, I realized I was out of peanut butter. How could I have run out of peanut butter? So, in went the Nutella instead.
In the end, it turned out really good. Is there anything with Nutella in it that isn’t good?
So, here’s the tasty accidental recipe!
White Chocolate Nutella Chex Mix
- 4 1/2 cups rice Chex cereal
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup Nutella
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 2/3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup candy coated chocolate candies
Measure the cereal into a bowl and set aside. In a microwave safe bowl, combine the white chocolate chips, Nutella, and butter. Microwave for 1 minute – 1 minute 30 seconds in 30 second increments, until melted. Add to Chex cereal and stir until combined. Add powdered sugar and stir until coated. Then, add the candies. Enjoy
