One of our kids’ favorite Valentine traditions is Secret Cupids. The original idea came from here, but we changed it to meet the needs of our own family. Basically, each child is given the name of another child in our family to be a Secret Cupid for. Then, they receive a Secret Cupid sack which contains 5 little prizes, which are to be given out secretly to their special person the 5 days leading up to Valentine’s Day. There are also little notes in each sack, where they can write a note or draw a picture each day to give to their special person.
I have loved this little tradition from the start. The prizes are not fancy, but it helps the kids get excited about serving one another. I love how they take the time to think about what their special person would like in a drawing or in a note and how they can get it to their special person in secret! It is great fun! This is a picture of the little notes included in their Secret Cupid sack and above you get a sneak peek into the prizes that will be given.
Next Tuesday marks the beginning of our Secret Cupids. I can’t wait!
