I put together this cute mini succulent planter for a friend who is moving to a new home soon. I thought it would be a nice, little housewarming gift. It was so fun, fast, and easy to make too! I had almost all the supplies already, so it didn’t cost very much to make either!
They’re cute right?! I’m sure you want to make one too! Here’s how…
- mini mason jar
- acrylic craft paint
- sand paper
- finishing spray
- craft styrofoam
- hot glue gun/hot glue sticks
- mini (fake) succulent plant (I found mine in the craft section of Walmart)
Before I started anything, as you can see from the picture, I made sure my craft sytrofoam was going to fit in my jar. I had to cut it down a little to fit. After that I started to paint. After the first coat, let it dry completely.
Then paint on another coat of paint. The above picture shows what mine looked like after the two coats of paint.
Then sand the jar to show off all the cute designs. After you are finished sanding, spray with a finishing spray, so the paint will stay on and not rub off in the future.
If your styrofoam is not inside your jar, make sure it is now and then use your hot glue gun to glue down some moss.
Then hot glue in your (fake) succulent plant A perfect plant that will never die! That’s my type of plant!
I think it turned out pretty cute! And a great way to celebrate a friend’s new home!
Have a fabulous day!
