There have been so many wonderful things happening this week, but the one I am most thankful for is my husband’s dissertation is finished! Can I say that again? Dissertation Finished! This last week he defended it, passed, and now we can think about our next family adventure! He will be graduating May 15th with his PhD in Human Ecology with a Specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy. We will be moving to Illinois this summer for his assistant professor faculty position! We are so proud of him!
To celebrate, we made him a congratulations sign (Carter helped me 🙂 ), decorated, and blew up a few balloons. The kids drew him cards and letters. We ate one of his favorite meals, Sausage, 3 Peppers, and Pasta and made a new dessert (Raspberry Swirl Cheesecake, I’ll share this recipe soon)! Our daughter wrote, “I’ve been waiting 10 years for this day!” on a balloon! She is funny, but we have been waiting a long time for this day and we are so happy that it is here! The kids even made up a little song, though when it was time to sing it, they got a little timid.
We are so thankful for all of Scott’s hard work on this project and the many others that came before. We are so proud of him! He has worked at the university late into the night almost every week night for the last couple of months to get this finished. We looked forward to seeing him for a few minutes each night when we dropped off dinner to him. We are now so thankful that he can eat dinner at home with us again! He works so hard for our family! He loves us all and we know that our family is his #1 priority!
