Today I wanted to share with you my two favorite homemade cleaners. Just in time for spring cleaning right!? (I should probably think about doing that 🙂 )I use these two cleaner recipes the most often and love them and find that I can clean almost everything with just these two!
I have not always used homemade cleaners, but a couple of years ago the Relief Society at church asked me if I would give a little mini class about homemade cleaners at a Relief Society activity. I told them that I would and then I figured that I should probably know a little bit about homemade cleaners if I was going to teach a class about them! At that time, I had only ever used a homemade cleaner to clean my oven and that was it! I had a lot to learn!
Since that activity, I have continued to use homemade cleaning products for most of my cleaning. I love that they are easy to make, save me money, and are safer for my family.
Both of these cleaners use Castile soap (which I bought on Amazon), regular white vinegar, and water. Make sure you clearly label your bottles, so you know which bottle contains which cleaner.
And here are the fabulous recipes:
All-purpose Liquid Cleaner
(The original recipe for this, located in the handout below, calls for ingredients to make a very large batch. I calculated how to make it just enough for one spray bottle’s worth, and this is it!)
- 32 oz. hot water
- 1/4 Tbsp. baking soda
- 1/2 Tbsp. liquid soap (like Dr. Bronner’s)
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup vinegar
- ½ tsp. castile soap (like Dr. Bronner’s)
And if you are interested, this is the handout that I made for the Relief Society activity of all the homemade cleaner recipes that I found online. I have not tried all of them, but it is sure a great resource to have! Just click on the link below for your free homemade cleaners printable!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
