Homemade Frozen Dolls

frozen dollsJust like every other girl, it seems, my daughter loves the movie Frozen! So, for her last birthday I decided that she needed some cute, homemade Frozen Dolls! And now with the announcement that there will be a Frozen 2, I’m sure the Frozen love will continue for a long time!

I found some really cute Frozen dolls online, but of course, they were super expensive, so I started to look for some inspiration to make some of my own. I decided to use the same doll pattern that I used to make Beardy (our St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun) from Make it and Love it. I changed the hair patterns slightly to make them look more like Anna and Elsa from Frozen and obviously tried to make the dresses look more like Anna and Elsa’s too.anna and elsa dollsI sewed the black part (I used felt) of Anna’s dress right onto the body part of the pattern. I did the same thing with the little white part of Elsa’s dress (which is also made of felt). I used Puffy Paint to draw the pattern on Anna’s dress and tried to do a little fancy stitching on the hem of her blue skirt.

frozen dollsFor both of them, I painted on their faces and used a little blush to make their cheeks a little bit rosy! Let me know if you have any questions about these, if you want to make some of your own!

My daughter was so excited to get them for her birthday! I think they will be a cherished gift for many years to come!

Cute! You did a great job. Too bad all we have are boys around here. Although if I promised not to tell, I bet some of them would play with Frozen dolls too 🙂

This is such a nice idea. I love one-of-a kind gifts for kids (I started a blog dedicated entirely to offering toy alternative gift ideas for kids), the ones that will remembered for many years if not for a life time and these adorable dolls fit the bill perfectly. I discovered your blog through Mom Resource link party.
